Our Pastor
Ed was called as Lena Vista Baptist church's 12th senior pastor in May of 2008. Prior to coming to Lena Vista, Ed pastored Chesbrough Baptist Church in Kentwood, LA. and served as an associate pastor of youth at Northside Bapist Church in Slidell, LA. He is a graduate of Leavell College at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Previous to his calling into full time ministry, Ed had a 22 year career with the Manatee Country Sheriff's Office in Bradenton, FL. He is married to his bride of 31 years, Debbie Norris. Debbie is a registered nurse at the Lakeland Regional Cancer Center. Debbie and Ed enjoy serving the Lord in a variety of ways. They share a heart for missions and between the two have traveled to Italy, the Ukraine, Puerto Rico, and numerous states within the continential U. S. Ed and Debbie have three children, Theresa, is currently in the graduate program at Southeastern University, Eddie a high school senior and Cheyenne a 8th grader.
Personal message from Pastor Ed
We serve a loving God. As our Creator, God has made each and everyone of us unique. Just as no two people have the same fingerprints, no two people are identical. We have been put on this earth for a purpose. God has a plan for you and the church called Lena Vista Baptist. I believe our purpose is to worship God with all that we are bringing glory and honor to our King. God desires for Lena Vista to be the church that makes an IMPACT for His Kingdom. We are living in tough times, an uncertain ecomony, the turmoil in the Middle East, and not a day goes by that I don't hear about someone connected with Lena Vista who is concerned about losing their job. Homes are in foreclosure, families are hurting and marriages are being broken. Yet, with all the uncertainty, we can be certain about one thing . . . God is in control and He loves us unconditionally. Won't you join with me in making an IMPACT on Auburndale and beyond? The times they are a changing - Our God never changes!
